don't pull, rub it...

What a day. It's late so I don't know how much I'll actually write but I can at least get started. A long awaited adventure in the mud finally happened. what seems like forever ago, my sister Cori found this website promoting a mud run. She some how convinced us all to join the party and get dirty. By "us all" I mean myself, my other sister Sara and about a dozen teachers from the elementry school she works at. Right from the get go we knew we needed a good team name and theme. Some one way awesome cam up with "word to your mudder" and it went from there. Full eighties work out gear seemed to to be the agreed upon wear, with a Cindy Lauper tutu for each member, for good measure. Though, I think a few of the others can probably sew, I was the one who volunteered to make said tutu's and spent a good 10 days making 15 of them in various neon colors.

We arrived at the event in style dressed to the 80's

I was ready and waiting to be covered in mud. Turns out I didn't have to wait to long. The first obstacle was a pit of dirty, muddy water! Of course I dove right in and began throwing handfuls at my less enthusiastic teammates. Not to say they were being "sticks in the mud" per-se, they just didn't dive in. They were just wading through. After the initial pit, there were other obstacles along the 3.5 mile course. Tire jumps, solid wall, slatted wall, balance beam and over/under walls to name a few. Naturally, I anaihalated all of them. One particular one was a large tube about 4 feet tall , that I launched myself over with gusto. I think I bruises myself a bit on that one. The final 500 yards or so were the best though. A huge slip'n'slide down a hill into a muddy water pool then the real mud pit you had to crawl through. Sure I more rolled through it, but getting muddy was the whole idea. I had a shit ton of fun and only wish it had been dirtier. The girls I went with made the whole experience enjoyable and I can't wait to do it again next year.

New.

I like things when they're fresh and new. I've had this blog for as long as I've had my cake blog, and have obviously done nothing with it. My dear good friend Holly Barbour recently stared her own blog and since we journal together IRL I felt the need to re-evaluate me online rantings, and decided to continue them. This is hopefully the first of many.

Here's to the start of a great day, new adventures and being truly happy.
